Weather Report :: Grants Pass, Oregon

January 5th, 2009

So, I didn’t see the caveman yet…or the Oregon Caves (waiting on the pith helmet from LL Bean anyway!)…but did drive four hours down “The Five” through Portland, Salem, Corvallis, Eugene…and into Grants Pass to set up for some monster training for all the staff at SPARC/Stepping Stone!  I met Marie and Kim–the tireless provider administrators, as well as Berta and Cathy who helped me make the most of our close quarters for training…and they all got Therap hats for being so helpful! :D

Weather: Fog, rain, wind…49 degrees…Better than the snow last night in Vancouver. ;)

PS: I think I need to check out Book Lore and More!!!…Watch out, I may overload Library Thing!

See you tomorrow!

Angry Aliens & Bunnies

January 2nd, 2009

One of my favorite websites for brilliant silliness: angryalien.com, the site of cartoonist Jennifer Shiman and her 30-Second Bunny Troupe. My personal favorites: Titanic, Scream and The James Bun Medley!

Sun in Vancouver!

January 2nd, 2009

Since the series of storms here, it has rained constantly…and erased any evidence of the foot or so of snow.  But even Archie seemed to be sleeping more (if that’s possible) during the gray days…and this morning, we awoke to more snow!  But then a true treat: the sun came out blazing and is melting it all away…Happy New Year from the gorgeous and sunny northwest!

Changes for the New Year

December 31st, 2008

Here’s an interesting exercise that a friend emailed me…more in depth than making resolutions:

Set aside at least 30 minutes, and consider recording or writing down
your responses to this exercise.

Step 1
Let your mind travel through time, one year into the future. Imagine
being at a New Year’s Eve dinner with friends, where you’re all
celebrating and chatting about this past year, 2009.

Begin by imagining a few details. Where are you? Who is at the table
with you? What are you wearing? Consider embellishing the scene with
scents, sounds, colors, and how your body feels.

Step 2
Again, it is the energy that you’re really going for here, let
yourself really BE how you’d like to imagine yourself being a year
from now.

Then, imagine answering your various friends’ questions (feel free to
answer any/all):

What are your highlights from this past year?

What are you most thankful for?

What’s your proudest accomplishment? What are some key moments that
contributed to this achievement?

What surprised you the most?

How did love (or courage, vision, fun) play a role in creating this year?

What excites you about 2010?

Step 3
When you feel satisfied, send out a HUGE thanks to the Universe for
creating this fabulous, beyond your dreams, year with you!

Stash your recording or writing in a place where you can review it as
2009 transitions into 2010.

Step 4
Enjoy! Relax! Have a blast!
Each moment and each day of 2009 is a gift!

Also, here’s a look back on 2008 via CNN.

See you next year. ;)

Wicked Good :: Back to Maine

December 30th, 2008

I am planning a “monster” trip back to my old stomping grounds for early March!!  I have had a lot of requests to return and offer some onsite support for our many Maine providers…so if you want me to come by (as many of you have already!), please let me know as I start putting together a schedule.

Wicked!! ;)

Calling All Oregonians!

December 30th, 2008

Therap is putting together an Oregon User Group; it makes sense given the amount of users we have here in the fine Pacific Northwest!  I will be invading your email inbox (most likely today!) asking you to join in some discussions of how to improve Therap’s applications, as well as speak to the unique needs of our Oregonian providers…so look out!

ISP User Group

December 30th, 2008

Keep an eye peeled!! I am putting together an ISP User Group to discuss the following and more:

Review the modules as they stand now and where they can be improved

How you use ISPs in the way of tracking teaching strategies, behavior programs and the like

State and agency policies surrounding this documentation

Anything else we come up with!

Let me know if you have any ideas…before I get to you!
